WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE YOUR SPORT?
I grew up as a competitive cross country skier and did well at the sport through out the junior level but reached a point where I wanted to participate in a sport that was more team oriented. One of my coaches encouraged me to try rowing and they were right!

WHAT’S BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE PERFORMANCE, AND WHY?
One of my most memorable performances was the B-final pairs race at WC1 in 2019. WC1 was my first World Cup and first time really racing the pair. I had learned a lot in the heat and the rep but when the B-final rolled around I raced like I hadn't before. I felt strong and powerful with Meghan Musnicki behind me and it was probably one of my best pair races I have ever done.

WHAT’S BEEN YOUR TOUGHEST CHALLENGE YOU’VE HAD TO FACE IN YOUR SPORT, AND WHAT DID IT TEACH YOU?
The past year 2021/2022 has been full of one challenge after another. Going to the Olympics and racing in the Womens 8+ was a dream come true but underperforming changed the way I looked at the Tokyo Olympics. Not long after getting back to the US I got injured and ended up having to get shoulder surgery. Staying motivated after getting fourth at the olympics and following it up with surgery was one fo the hardest things I have had to do. Being on the sideline and watching my teammates train and race knowing I couldn't rush recovery to be back in it with them was something nothing could have prepared me for.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU? WHAT KEEPS YOU GETTING UP EVERY MORNING?
What motivates me now is wanting to make a second olympic team and perform better than we did in 2021. I also want to have more PRs on the erg before my career is over. But my teammates are what get me up in the morning. Seeing them and working hard next to them everyday is what gets me up.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR YOUNGER ATHLETES ENTERING THE SPORT ASPIRING GREATNESS ON THE WORLD STAGE?
Dont be afraid of new opportunities, you never know what they might lead to!

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF YOUR SPORT? INTERESTS? CAREER?
I love to bake and explore the area I am in. If I am by the ocean you can usually find me taking a dip in the water. My career goal outside of rowing is to be an ER nurse.
